BBS Divers

If you're looking for a fun dive club to get involved with, you've come to the right place!

"Botany Bottom Scratchers" Dive Club (BBS Divers) is an Auckland-based dive club which was set up as a means for people to get together to do what they love best - diving! Snorkellers are welcome too, so why not pop down to our next meeting at the Cock and Bull Botany.

An important aspect to the club is the social side, as there's normally a BBQ or quiz night going on somewhere! With regular planned trips -including both New Zealand-based sites and overseas locations, there's never a shortage of things happening at BBS.

See us on facebook

We're always keen to find new members to join our friendly club so if you're interested in finding out more - please contact our club president Julian Waters . Our member-base ranges from all backgrounds, nationalities and ages, so everyone is welcome.

The club's approach is all about getting out diving and having fun.  Although we don't offer official diver training or courses - with a group of highly experienced instructors on hand - we're more than happy to cater for "newbies" and offer advice and guidance.

Safety is a serious consideration for the club too. Have a look at our safe diving practice code for more details.

Our club night usually takes place on the first Monday of each month in The Cock & Bull pub, Botany (7pm), so why not pop down, have a beer with us and find out more about the club. Please ask the staff at the bar for our meeting location within the pub. Don't worry if the meeting has already started, please feel welcome to come in and interrupt us. If you have any questions please send us an email .

In the meantime - have a browse over the website, check out our trip reports and we look forward to seeing you ...

Club Members can log into this page for useful information such as membership fee due dates / costs; club kit inventory and more. See below for the latest news.....

Product safety warning for diving hoses

Divers are being urged to immediately stop using Miflex High Pressure Diving Hoses.

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs says this product has been recalled in North America due to the risk of the hose rupturing, leaving the diver without air supply and at risk of drowning.

The hoses are primarily sold as individual replacement gauge hoses. They may also go by the brands Cascade Hoses, Deluxe Cylinder Equalizer (P/N AC366), Miflex Two Gauge Console (HL300/HL300M) and Miflex Rebreather Kits.

The recall has been initiated by the United States supplier of the Italian-made products. Their website has further details: http://www.xsscuba.com/miflex-safety-recall.html.

Initial investigations by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs have determined that the equipment has been bought through overseas websites and imported into New Zealand.

If you own one of the affected hoses, stop using it immediately and contact your supplier.
